What is Geofence Clocking?
Geofencing for clock-in involves using GPS technology to create a virtual boundary around a specific location, ensuring employees clock in and out only when physically present at that location. This technology helps to verify the location of employees when they clock in and out, preventing "buddy punching" or time theft, and ensuring accurate time tracking.
Here's how geofence clocking works:

1. Defining the Geofence:
A geofence is a virtual boundary drawn around a specific location, such as an office building or job site.
2. Employee Device:
Employees use a mobile time clock app (or a dedicated device) that utilizes GPS to track their location.
3. Clocking In/Out:
When an employee enters the geofenced area, their device automatically triggers a clock-in, and when they exit, it triggers a clock-out.
4. Verification:
The system verifies if the clock-in/out occurred within the defined geofence, ensuring employees are at the designated location when they record their work hours.
5. Time Tracking:
The system then automatically tracks the employee's work hours and can send notifications or alerts if an employee attempts to clock in/out outside of the geofence.
